VOXTON KENNELS |
Voxton Kennels is located in Glenmoore, Pennsylvania at the far North Western tip
of Chester County, 65 miles north and west of Philadelphia and run by Mike & Marilyn
Gilpin. Our kennel is primarily dedicated to the working English Cocker.
Prior to emigrating to the United States, Mike trained and field trialed
English Springer Spaniels and ran a 2,000 Acre Shooting Syndicate located in Cassington,
Oxfordshire. Mike has maintained all of his friendships with his former
"dog training and trialing" buddies in the U.K., many of whom are leading professional
handlers. On his trips back home he continues to add to his original
circle of gundog training friends. These contacts allow us to source many
fine dogs from the United Kingdom. Having worked exclusively with Springers in England, Mike decided to give himself a change and a challenge by focusing on training and trialing the working English Cocker here in America. His first field trial over here was in 1998 and since that time he has made up three Field Trial Champions and received numerous field trial placements. He was Top Amateur Handler on the Cocker Field Trial Circuit in 2004. He very much enjoys watching others work their Cockers, having judged 14 Open All Age Cocker field trials. Mike retired from his "day job" in June of 2006 and now accepts a small number of dogs for training in addition to his own string of field bred English Cockers. We breed a small number of litters, approximately one per year, our objective is to use a bitch, who has proven herself in field trials, mated to a dog which has similarly proven himself. The pedigrees of both the bitch and the stud dog must have a solid lineage of ancestors who have also proven themselves in trials. You can see some puppy pictures and pedigrees here on our website. Thanks for visiting and come back again. |
